These vintage William Spratling earrings are a standout example of mid-century Taxco silver design. Crafted in sterling silver in the 1950s, the earrings feature sculptural spiral conch-shell forms set with deep purple amethyst cabochons. The organic shell motif reflects Spratling’s signature blend of Mexican craftsmanship and modernist aesthetics.
Exceptional provenance: This pair comes from the estate of Phyllis M. Goddard, the leading scholar of Spratling’s work. They are the exact earrings published in her reference Spratling Silver: A Field Guide, giving them rare documentation and collector-level significance.
